How We Mobilize Voters for Our Candidates

Postcard writing to targeted Democratic and Independent voters

Canvassing and lit-dropping: going door-to-door to educate voters about our candidates and the election.

2024 Endorsements

At They See Blue New York, we take our endorsements seriously. Every candidate seeking our endorsement goes through a thorough, multi-step process.

First, candidates complete a vetting questionnaire, which our board carefully reviews. This questionnaire provides us with essential information about the candidate, their district, viability, and the impact the South Asian community can have on their race.

Next, we hold a Zoom interview with the candidate, which is open to all our members. This allows our members to engage directly, ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the candidate and their campaign.

Finally, we conduct a one-week chapter-wide voting period. Candidates must secure a majority of votes from our membership to earn our endorsement.

This rigorous process ensures that our endorsements reflect our chapter's collective voice and values.

About Us

The New York chapter was initially launched as the NY/NJ chapter during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. We identified House districts in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut where the South Asian community made a significant impact in 2020.

In 2024, following its success in the special election for New York’s 3rd Congressional District, the chapter relaunched and rebranded as “They See Blue New York.” Our chapter is focused on securing Democratic wins in U.S. House races that were flipped red in the 2022 midterms. We also support down-ballot candidates in these districts and other local toss-up races, recognizing the essential synergy between top-down candidates.

Our members bring years of political experience, campaign management, and even running for office. These experiences equip us with the knowledge and tools needed to win.

They See Blue NY also recommends candidates who did not apply for an endorsement but are running in must-win battleground congressional or down-ballot flippable districts in areas where we are campaigning. Recommended candidates will receive help. Endorsed candidates will receive priority in mobilization and resource allocation.
