They See Blue® (TSB) Stands In Solidarity with All Those Affected by the Tragic Climate Disaster in Nepal and the Nepali American Community
TSB stands in solidarity with our Nepali American neighbors and with the people of Nepal as they mourn an unimaginable loss of life following the catastrophic floods and landslides that have devastated the country.
Since the disaster began on August 26, 2026, more than 1,300 people have been reported dead and thousands remain missing. Families are still waiting for news of loved ones, while rescue teams continue searching for survivors and communities struggle to access food, clean water, medical care, and shelter.
For Nepali Americans, this tragedy is deeply personal. Across the US, families are anxiously trying to reach relatives and friends, while grieving for those they have lost. We stand with you in this time of profound uncertainty and sorrow.
In this critical time of rising danger associated with climate change and the warming of glaciers, it is yet another reminder that the U.S. - once a global champion of science and rationality - has chosen to cut funding for key programs monitoring climate change. Indeed, the program titled ‘SERVIR Hindu-Kush-Himalaya (HKH)’ – a joint initiative by USAID, NASA, and the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) – used satellite imagery and geospatial technology to monitor floods and glacial lakes. The program was formally ended after Trump froze foreign aid in January 2025. (The Print).

International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC): — Supporting the Nepal Red Cross Society's emergency response, including shelter, health care, clean water, sanitation, household supplies and cash assistance.
UNICEF USA — Supporting children and families affected by the floods, including emergency supplies and restoration of essential services.
World Central Kitchen — Helping to feed survivors and rescue personnel.
Please give through an organization's official website rather than through unverified social-media fundraisers. In a crisis of this scale, established humanitarian organizations can direct resources where the need is greatest.
Please vote in the midterms for candidates and policies that understand the impact of climate change, science, and the US government's role as a leader in humanitarian causes around the world.
